Aecom to supervise East Coast Rail Link construction

CHINA Communications Construction Company has awarded Aecom a Ringgits 83m ($US 20.7m) contract to provide site supervision services for Malaysia’s East Coast Rail Link.

The Ringgits 55bn project involves building a 538.5km electrified main line linking the capital Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley conurbation with the less-developed regions of Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan, together with 66.5km of branch lines and connections to the existing network.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held in August 2017 and the project is due to be completed in 2024.
