EUROPEAN freight wagon leasing company Wascosa says the average age of its fleet will fall from 13 to 10 years by the end of 2018 with the delivery of more than 1700 new vehicles from various suppliers.

According to research by SCI Verkehr, Wascosa already has the youngest fleet of fleet of any of the major European wagon leasing businesses, ahead of European Rail Rent (15 years), GATX Rail Europe (18 years) and Nacco/CIT (19 years).

The Lucerne-based company says it has also recently added more than 200 Fanps hopper wagons to its portfolio, and is continuing to equip its fleet with telematics systems.
