SÃO Paulo commuter rail operator Paulista Metropolitan Trains Company (CPTM) has awarded Korea's Hyundai Rotem with a Won 80bn ($USD 71.6m) contract for rolling stock maintenance.

The deal signed on June 22 will see Hyundai Rotem provide ongoing maintenance and repairs for CPTM's CAP 320 EMU cars over the next four years. The trains are used on Sao Paul’s lines 9, 11 and 12.

Hyundai Rotem will use its next-generation Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS) to handle maintenance processes across three different lines and depot locations.
