Plasser wins Egyptian measuring car order

EGYPTIAN National Railways (ENR) has awarded Plasser & Theurer a contract worth around €6.8m to supply an EM100U track recording car.

The vehicle, which is due for delivery next year, will be equipped with Plasser & Theurer’s track geometry measuring system which measures track under true load conditions. The EM100U will also feature an ultrasonic rail flaw detection system and ground penetrating radar for substructure measurement.

The contract includes a five-year spare parts and maintenance agreement.
